Karen (Black) McConnell, founder of KBM Law Group, brings more than 25 years of experience as in-house counsel across the technology, telecommunications, cybersecurity, fintech, insurance and financial services sectors. Her passion for being embedded within the business — working closely with others and contributing to company success — shaped her collaborative, client-focused approach to law. She has always loved being part of the team—being accountable for her work, involved in day-to-day decisions, and truly invested in the results. Karen’s deep understanding of diverse business needs and personalities allows her to tailor legal advice to align with each client’s unique goals and concerns.
Karen received her J.D. from Washington University School of Law and her B.A. in Psychology from St. Louis University. She currently resides in the Kansas City area with her family and is licensed to practice law in Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois.
